The Enduring Value of My Chase Business Complete Checking Account
When I registered my business as an LLC in Portland, Oregon, I considered various financial institutions, including local banks, regional banks, credit unions, online banks, and national banks, to find the most suitable checking account. To my surprise, Chase, one of the largest banks in the United States, emerged as the best option.
Chase’s extensive range of services means that nearly any banking need can be fulfilled under one platform with a single online login. Although their rates and fees are not the lowest, the overall account features were satisfactory enough for me to open additional accounts with Chase as my business grew. Additionally, by completing specific qualifying activities, you can earn a substantial bonus when opening a new Chase Business Complete Checking® account.
Here’s why I maintain my business checking account with Chase and why it might also be beneficial for your business.
Exceptional Branch and ATM Network in the U.S.
While I have a strong preference for community credit unions and online banks, there is undeniable convenience in being able to visit a branch in most major U.S. cities for in-person assistance. According to Chase’s website, they have more than 4,700 branches across 38 states and Washington, D.C. It’s highly probable that there’s a Chase branch close to you.
For straightforward transactions like depositing a check or withdrawing cash, you can use a Chase ATM instead of waiting for a teller. Though Chase charges fees for using ATMs outside their network, my business rarely requires cash. Moreover, with 15,000 Chase ATMs available, finding one when needed is convenient.
Chase Offers Comprehensive Financial Solutions
While many smaller financial institutions have a narrow range of business account offerings, Chase provides products tailored to meet the needs of businesses spanning from one-person ventures to massive multinational corporations. As an entrepreneur operating a small business with a few contracted assistants, I found Chase’s small business checking account to be an ideal fit for my requirements during my initial search.
My company utilizes the Chase Business Complete Checking account, which waives recurring fees as long as a minimum balance of $2,000 is maintained, a condition that poses no challenge for me. This account facilitates unlimited electronic deposits, up to 100 transactions per month without additional charges, and allows for cash deposits up to $5,000 monthly without incurring fees, in addition to providing valuable online banking capabilities.
Unexpectedly Exceptional Customer Support
Big companies often bring to mind poor customer service experiences, such as those from airlines, cable providers, and even banks. However, my interactions with Chase, both personally and for my business, have been marked by surprisingly excellent customer service.
Chase’s customer service may not always cater to the customer’s every whim, but I have consistently found it to be professional, courteous, and reasonable. Besides my business accounts, I also hold several Chase personal and business credit cards. Whenever I’ve needed assistance with any of my accounts, Chase has generally made the resolution process straightforward and efficient.
Chase Business Complete Checking Promotion: Earn $300
Chase is currently providing a special offer where new customers can receive a $300 bonus upon opening a Chase Business Complete Checking account.
To be eligible for this bonus, new customers must follow specific steps and complete certain transactions after opening the account.
To be eligible for the Chase business checking bonus, you must:
1. Be a first-time Chase business checking account holder
2. Open a new account and deposit at least $2,000 within the first 30 days
3. Keep a minimum balance of $2,000 for 60 days
Additionally, within the first 90 days, you need to complete at least five qualifying transactions. These transactions can include:
- Purchases using the debit card
- Mobile check deposits via Chase QuickDeposits (using the Chase Mobile app)
- Credit card payments through Chase QuickAccept (using the Chase Mobile app)
- ACH credits (note: there is a $25 monthly fee for up to 25 payments)
- Wire transfers (both incoming and outgoing)
Important Details About the Bonus
Bank bonuses are considered interest. At the end of the year, Chase will provide a 1099-INT form for any bonuses received. Your account must remain open for at least six months; if it is closed before then, the bonus will be deducted at closing. Chase also limits customers to one new account bonus every two years, based on the enrollment date.
Superior Mobile and Online Banking
One of the major issues with smaller banks is the quality of their digital services. Many rely on external providers for their online banking systems, which can be subpar. In contrast, Chase offers a highly impressive digital experience.
Personally, I frequently use the Chase app to check my balance and deposit checks. The app also allows for near-instant payments via Zelle, which I use to pay my primary virtual assistant. The advantages of Chase’s size are evident in both their mobile app and website.
Watch Out for Fees and Low Interest Rates
Before you don a mask and head to a local Chase branch to open an account, take a moment to examine the fees and interest rates. These are significant drawbacks of Chase accounts.
For instance, my Chase savings account offers just 0.01% APY, which is nearly negligible. Additionally, there’s a $15 monthly fee unless you maintain a minimum balance. If you can avoid these fees and don’t require a large savings balance, Chase might work for you. However, if you conduct many transactions or are concerned about fees, there are other options with lower fees available.
Chase Presents an Excellent Option for Small Business Banking
Small business owners have numerous responsibilities, from managing payroll and inventory to ensuring good customer service. It’s beneficial to choose a bank that simplifies these tasks.
This is the rationale behind my decision to establish my own business checking account at Chase. The process is straightforward, enabling me to evade most fees, and they possess the capability to accommodate virtually any requirement I may have. If you are a small business proprietor exploring account options, the Chase Business Complete Checking account merits serious consideration.
